six coaches and the engine of Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto Express derailed near Asangaon in Maharashtra

Mumbai:29/8/17; At least six coaches and the engine of Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto Express derailed near Asangaon in Maharashtra’s Thane district around 6.40 am today. No casualties or injuries were reported, officials said.

Top Central Railway officials are rushing to the spot to supervise relief and rescue operations, Railway Board Chairman Ashwani Lohani said.

The incident occurred at railway crossing near Asangaon, sources said. This is the second derailment in Mumbai in the past one week. No casualty has been reported so far.

On August 23, Kaifiyat Express derailed in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh injuring over 100 people.
