Bhubaneswar:24/8/17:;Odisha’s Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr.Naveen Patnaik inaugurated Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) office building situated near the Mancheswar Industrial Estate, Bhubaneswar. The Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) was constituted as a state Nodal agency in the 1984 under aegis of dept of Science and Technology. Withinthese 33 years, OREDA state has organised many Renewable Energy activities like drinking water facilities through solar energy and water supply for irrigation purpose, electricity facilities through solar plants both in schools and villages along with the street lights, facilitated solar lanterns for the handicraft makers.

Today Hon’ble Chief Minister inaugurated the OREDA office building laying foundation stone ceremony at around 5:15 PM. In this auspicious ceremony Sri Badrinarayan Patra (Hon’ble Minister, school & Mass Education, Science & Technology and chairman, OREDA), ShriAshok Chandra Panda (Hon’bleMinister,Tourism & Cultural Dep’t.),Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patsani ( Hon’ble MP,Bhubaneswar), Shri Bijaya Kumar Mohanty ( Hon’ble MLA, Bhubaneswar,Central), Shri Priyadarshi Mishra (Hon’ble MLA, Bhubaneswar,North), Shri Ananta Narayan Jena (Hon’ble Mayor,B.M.C) , Chief Seceretary Aditya Prasad Padhi ,R. Balakrishnan ( Development Commissioner cum Additional Chief Secretary ) ,  Shri V V Yadav , IAS ( Commissioner-Cum-Secretary to Government, Science & Technology Department , Odisha ) , Roopa Mishra ( I.A.S Chief Executive , OREDA) and many renowned officers were a part of this event.

For the building construction,autoclaved aerated concrete block will be used, which will manage the outer heat and control inner temperature. Apart from this, one 100kW solar roof top is planed which will save up to 34320kWElectricity per year. OREDA aims to be the Net Plus Power very soon. 2081 square Meter has been allotted for this entire project at Mancheswar Industrial Estate along with the budget of Rs.10,87,20,542.

This morning Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a web portal ‘‘www.rts.odisha.gov.in’’. Under this scheme, People can establish the solar power system on their roof.
