Patanjali Yogpeeth has been contemplating to set up an Acharyakulam in Odisha in next two years.

Bhubaneswar:23/8/17: Yoga Guru Ramdev today said his Patanjali Yogpeeth has been contemplating to set up an Acharyakulam (a school based on vedic-cum-modern education) and Yoga university in Odisha in next two years.

 “An Acharyakulam will be set up in Odisha by the Patanjali Yogpeeth within 1-2 years. We will also establish a Yoga University here in the future,” Ramdev told reporters here

 The yoga guru has been in the city to attend a convention of Patanjali distributors.

Stating that Yoga should be introduced in school curriculum, Ramdev said the Patanjali Yogpeeth will take initiative in this regard. The state governemnt should also encourage yoga education in schools, he said.

Replying a question, Ramdev said said he would like to see both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik work in tandem for the larger benefit of people.

However, Ramdev’s proposal of a Modi-Naveen combine sparked sharp reaction in the ruling BJD. Senior minister and BJD vice-president Damador Rout asked Ramdev to quit yoga and join politics.
