Lanjigarh:19/8/17: Vedanta Lanjigarh today launched its umbrella distribution program among the students of rural government schools near its plant periphery besides sensitizing them on cleanliness, vector-borne disease prevention and other monsoon related health issues. Present on the occasion were Mr. Surya Narayan Dash, Sub-Collector – Kalahandi, Mr. Bimalananda Senapati, COO, Vedanta Limited, Lanjigarh, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Nayak, BEO, Lanjigarh, Mr. Jalaj Malpani, CFO, Vedanta Lanjigarh and Mr. Gopabandhu Prusty, Headmaster, Govt. nodal U.P. school, Lanjigarh among other dignitaries. Approximately 3000 students will directly get benefitted out of this programme.
Addressing the students and teachers in the inaugural function, Mr. Bimalananda Senapati emphasized on the values of education. He urged upon all to take preventive measures during the monsoons for good health and motivated the little ones to remain focused on studies as it is the only way to secure a good future. Since most of the students in rural areas come from very poor family background the magnitude of positive impact out of this programme will be large, he opined. Mr. Surya Narayan Dash said that right to education commensurate with facilitating and creating right means and environment for the young children. He appreciated the effort of Vedanta towards building a right ambience for the school students in the region. Mr. Jalaj Malpani motivated the students for their bright future.
