Om Prakash Jindal’s 87th Birth Anniversary has been observed by Jindal Steel & Power Ltd

Angul/bhubaneswar :7/8/17; Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) observed Shri Om Prakash Jindal’s 87th Birth Anniversary today with several social welfare programmes at Angul, Barbil, Tensa, Bhubaneswar and other locations in Odisha. Employees of JSPL with their family members and people from the community paid floral tribute founder of OP Jindal Group, who has been a successful entrepreneur, social worker and politician.At Angul, a voluntary blood donation camp was organised in memory of the divine soul. The Camp was inaugurated by Mr. D.K Saraogi, Executive Director and Location Head in presence of Mrs. Sujata Saraogi, President Jindal Mahila Samiti; Mr. Damodar Mittal, EVP-Phase 1B; Mr. Arvind Kumar, EVP-F&A and Mr. S.K. Sharma, VP-CSR&R; Mr. Alok Malhotra, Head (HR&ES); Swami Satyabindu; Mr. Ashish Pandey, GM Projects; and other officials of the Company. Total 73 units of blood were collected in this camp, which will also be continued tomorrow.

n the occasion, JSPL Foundation also launched O.P. Jindal Angul Cup Foot-ball tournament at Angul Stadium. The tournament was inaugurated by Mr. Brijesh Kumar Rai, (IPS), Angul Superintendent of Police in presence of Mr. Akshaya Samanta (Chairman, Angul Municipality), Mr. Mahendra Kumar Sahu (District Sports Officer, Angul) and Mr. Nilamani Rout, Secretary of Angul Sub Division Athletic Association. In this state level football contest 12 teams from across the state are participating. Mr. DK Saraogi, Mr. S.K. Sharma and Mrs. Puspalata Satapathy, DGM-CSR were also graced the programme with other dignitaries.

Led by Mrs. Sujata Saraogi, Jindal Mahila Samiti members celebrated this day with children of Adruta Children Home at Angul and distributed new dresses to the inmates. In the evening, inhabitants of Jindal Nagar participated in a Bhajan Sandhya, organised in the memory of Shri OP Jindal JI.

Similarly at Barbil, Mr. G. Suresha, Unit Head (JSPL); Mr. BB Pradhan, Head (HR & ES); Mr. SK Agrawal, Head (Commercial); Mr. Manas Dash, Head (Finance) and other officials of the Unit paid their floral tribute to Shri OP Jindal ji. Students of OP Jindal School staged a cultural programme on this day.

Students of Adivasi Vikas Samiti Vidyamandir in Serenda were distributed sweets on the occasion. Like previous years this year too, nearly 500 school bags were distributed among students of various schools in Deojhar gram panchayat.

At Tensa, JSPL organised a football tournament in memory of Shri OP Jindal ji. In this tournament 14 teams from Koida area participated. The Winners were awarded by Mr. Anant Sahu, SI of Police (Tensa Police Station) and Mr. Y Nagendra, Unit Head, JSPL, Tensa and other senior officials and local leaders.

At Bhubaneswar, all the staff members led by Mr. Ashish Kumar, ED (Mines & Minerals) paid their tribute to Shri OP Jindal. The Company also distributed sweets among inmates of ‘Aama Ghar’, a children home –run by Peoples Forum in the City.
