Tussle between Jogi and Baijayant

Bhubaneswar:4/8/17: The allegations of business links between BJD MP Baijayant Panda and former finance minister P.Chidambaram levelled by former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi has kicked off a political storm in Odisha.

However the office of the MP had categorically rubbished such allegations yesterday, though Jogi on Friday reiterated that he has enough evidence to prove his claims.

“There should be a proper inquiry on whether the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearances given to the company owned by Panda’s family and Rs 2,300 crore loan waiver were done in the right manner or not,” said Jogi.

eacting to Jogi’s allegation, MP Baijayant Panda’s office yesterday claimed that “The allegations by Shri Jogi are ridiculous. Shri P.Chidambaram had appeared in court as legal counsel for companies connected to Mr Panda’s family. Neither Mr Panda nor any family members have any dealings with Sri Karti Chidambaram.”

Moreover, BJD MP Baijayant Panda’s political secretary Jyoti Prakash Ghose had termed it as a ‘political conspiracy.’  Without taking any name, Ghose had said that the entire plot was orchestrated by a non-Odia bureaucrat.
