BJD Mahila wing set dharana against decision to hike the price of LPG cylinders

Bhubaneswar:4/8/17:The BJD Mahila wing demanded the Governor for issue of necessary direction to the Union Government which has recently taken decision to hike the price of LPG cylinders and end all subsidies on cooking gas.

“The decision will affect all consumers in general and the poor people in particular and will have adverse impact on their economic front as the Petroleum Ministry has decided to hike LPG prices by Rs 4 per cylinder every month starting from July 1, 2017 and to end all subsidies on cooking gas by end of March, 2018”, the memorandum read.

Thousands of BJD women activists, including various legislators, participated in the dharna under the leadership of BMJD president Pramila Mallick.
