VIMSAR Post-Graduate doctors put ongoing strike on hold

Burla:3/8/17: The Post-Graduate doctors at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) today put ongoing strike on hold in Burla following discussion with Odisha Health Minister Pratap Jena.

The medicos were on cease-work since Sunday demanding the removal of Director Aswini Pujahari, who had cracked a whip on the doctors allegedly treating patients at several private clinics during their duty hours.

Earlier, Pratap Jena had urged agitating PG students to withdraw their stir and join work. However, they remained adamant on their demand and continued their strike in protest against Director’s alleged high-handedness.

In view of serious disruption of health services at the beleaguered medical college at Burla due to the indefinite cease-work by postgraduate students, the Odisha government ordered 116 PG pass outs to join the institution for temporary period.
