Pregnant woman ferried across river by a group of persons through a stretcher

Rayagada28/7/17;: A pregnant woman was today ferried across river by a group of persons through a stretcher in Odisha’s Rayagada district due to lack of road connectivity.

ccording to reports, Ajamini Aaka, a woman of Talasaja village under Sikarpai panchayat in Kalyansinghpur block of the district, complained of labour pain following which her family members decided to take her to hospital.

Lack of road from the village to nearby hospital posed as a big hurdle for the woman’s kin in order to shift her to hospital.

Left with no other option, they ferried the woman across Nagabali river carrying her on a stretcher attached with tubes amid neck-deep water.
