Odisha Chief Minister approved a proposal empowering District Collectors to act as Additional Registrar

Bhubaneswar:28/7/17: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved a proposal empowering District Collectors to act as Additional Registrar, Cooperative Societies in their respective districts for proper management and supervision of cooperative institutions at the grassroots level like PACS, LAMPCS, SCS, FSCS and RCMS.

The District Collectors were vested with powers of Additional Registrar, Cooperative Societies in their respective districts under the provisions of Odisha Co-Operative Societies Act, 1962 and Odisha Cooperative Societies Rules 1965.Cooperative institutions have been playing an important role in granting of crop loans, the supply of fertilizers and seeds and procurement of paddy.
