Odisha Cabinet today approved 19 proposals including the proposal for reduction of Value Added Tax

Bhubaneswar:26/7/17: In a development, the Odisha Cabinet today approved 19 proposals including the proposal for reduction of Value Added Tax (VAT) from 5 per cent to 1 per cent for four upcoming airports under UDAN scheme.

The State Cabinet has granted its nod for the revised Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates and provided its consent for changes in cadres of Agricultural department.

Besides, the Cabinet also approved the proposal to invite tenders to provide portable water facility in Baripada, Sambalpur, Rourkela and Jharsuguda districts and provided its nod for the proposal of formation of Higher Education Council for state varsities and degree colleges.

The Ministers’ body meeting also paved way for Odisha Regulation of fishing in Chilika.

Reportedly, the State Cabinet will again hold its meeting on Wednesday evening at the State Secretariat here.
