Ganjam collector come forward to safeguard Biju Janata Dal

Cuttack:25/7/17: While the blame game and war of words over the alleged dubious poll funding by the BJD during the 2014 general election is still on, the Ganjam collector has filed a recall petition in Orissa High Court today to dismiss the writ petition as the petitioner is not a resident of the concerned constituency.

In his petition, the district collector has reportedly mentioned that the petitioner has no rights to ask anything related to the matter as he doesn’t belong to the constituency.

All the details related to polls are destroyed after one year. Therefore, asking for the details after two years of completion of the elections is not acceptable, the collector stated.Earlier in the day today, a five-member team of Odisha BJP moved the Income Tax Commissioner seeking a thorough inquiry into the alleged discrepancies in the data of ruling BJD’s election expenditure.

BJD has alleged that about Rs 5,000 crore has been transferred to BJP and Congress bank accounts from different unknown sources in the last ten years.

Meanwhile, the BJD has warned that it will serve legal notice to BJP and also the national news channel which telecast a ‘misleading’ report regarding its poll expenditure in 2014.
