After the spectre of sheep-killing: now it’s the turn of flock of goats

Berhampur:22/7/17: After the spectre of sheep-killing by ‘mystery’ animals, now it’s the turn of flock of goats to fall prey to lethal attack by still-unidentified creatures.

Maimed bodies of four goats were retrieved near Sitadhimira street in old town locality of Berhampur township.

The stomach of the slain goats was ripped apart. Preliminary evidences point out towards the animal-attack-induced death. The bodies have however been sent for post mortem for conclusive findings on the nature of death, said forest officials.

It’s for the first time that the killing of goats has been reported while sheep-killing phenomenon still goes unabated principally in Niali block of Cuttack district.

While majority of sheep-killing (over 150) has been registered in Niali, about a dozen of such death has also been recorded in north Ghumsur block of Ganjam district.
