Rourkela:21/7/17; Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stone for the much awaited second bridge on river Brahmani at Balughat ground here on Friday.
Addressing the occasion, the Union Transport Minister said the second Brahmani Bridge to be ready in 2 years.
Among those present on the occasion were Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Rourkela MLA Dilip Ray.
Rs 476 crore fund has been sanctioned by the Centre for the second Brahmani Bridge which would be 6-lane.
Besides the 6-lane second Brahmani Bridge, foundation stone was also laid for four-laning of Birmitrapur-Brahmani bypass end section on NH-23 (New NH-143).
The new bridge will provide hassle-free communication between Jharkhand, Chhatisgarh and Biramitrapur.
