Odia athletes put up a strong show clinching two golds in the ongoing National Inter State Championships

Bhubaneswar/Guntur:17/7/17; Buoyed by good performance in the recently concluded Asian Athletics Meet earlier this month, Odia athletes put up a strong show clinching two golds in the ongoing National Inter State Championships athletics meet at Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.

Sprinting sensation Amiya Kumar Mallick bagged gold in the men’s 200m run with a lap time of 21.65s while Asian Athletics bronze medallist Srabani Nanda clinched gold in women’s 200 m sprint event with a timing of 24.18s

Mallick clinched the medal beating Vipin Kumar (21.85s) of Manipur and Haryana’s Parveen (22.01s) came second and third, respectively. Similarly, 26 year old Srabani bagged the first position after beating West Bengal duo Anwesha Roy Pradhan (24.37s) and Sonia Baisya (24.85).
