12-Hour Bandh In 3 Blocks Of Gajapati For Sub-Division Status To G.Udaygiri

G.Udaygiri:17/7/17: Demand for sub-division status to G.Udaygiri block intensified with a 12-hour bandh call in three blocks including Nuagada, Rayagad and G.Udaygiri of Gajapati district today.

United action committee, an outfit which has been spearheading the movement pressing for the demand, staged a road blockade at Mahendragada, Chheligada, R Udaygiri, Khajuripada, Nuagad and Rayagad bringing vehicular movement into a grinding halt.

Schools, government offices and business establishments have remained shut due to the bandh. Activists of the committee started picketing in the market area of all blocks.
