Bittihotra Mohanty alias Bitti released from Jaipur Central Jail

Bhubaneswar:6/7/17: Former Odisha DGP BB Mohanty’s son Bittihotra Mohanty alias Bitti, who was convicted in the German woman tourist rape case, was today released from Jaipur Central Jail in Rajasthan.

Decks were cleared for his release as the Supreme Court had granted him conditional bail on March 31 in the rape case and the Rajasthan High Court had rejected parole violation case against him on May 18.

Notably, Bitti was arrested from Kannur in Kerala on March 9, 2013.

The tech student was sentenced to seven years imprisonment for raping a German woman tourist in Alwar in Rajasthan in 2006.
