Naveen Patnaik kicked off the RuPay Kisan cards distribution

Bhubaneswar:1/7/17: Farmers of the State will get the RuPay Kisan cards soon after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today kicked off the card distribution and computerisation of primary agriculture cooperative societies.

During a state-level function at Jayadev Bhawan in the city, the Chief Minister distributed the RuPay Kisan cards to beneficiaries in presence of Revenue Minister SN Patro, Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patasani, Secretaries and other government officials.

Earlier this year, the Prime Minister had asked the States to issue the RuPay Kisan card to farmers. With this card, farmers can withdraw limited amount of money from any ATM of any nationalised or private banks. Besides, money can be withdrawn by swiping the RuPay Kisan card at Point of Sale (POS) machines at cooperative societies.
