Odisha has achieved second position in the country for construction of 5796 kilometre rural roads

Bhubaneswar23/6/17;: Odisha has achieved second position in the country for construction of 5796 kilometre rural roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) during the year 2016-17. Second position in providing road connectivity to 1685 rural habitats and for construction of 562 kilometre rural roads by using green technology has also been achieved by the State.

Earlier on June 19, Odisha was awarded in these three sectors by Union Minister for Rural Development Narendra Singh Tomar at an event organised by Ministry of Rural Development at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. State Rural Development Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh dedicated the award to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Odisha Secretariat on Thursday evening
