Noted Odia scientist Dr. Lalit Mohan Das has been conferred with the prestigious Biju Patnaik Award

Bhubaneswar23/6/17: Noted Odia scientist Dr. Lalit Mohan Das has been conferred with the prestigious Biju Patnaik Award for Scientific Excellence for the year 2014.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik felicitated Das with a medal, citation and a cash prize of Rs two lakh at a function here organized by Odisha Bigyan Academy (OBA) of Science and Information Technology department.

A total of 11 personalities from various fields of science were awarded for their pioneering contribution in innovation, research and popularization of scientific temper.

Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Chand, Dr. Swati Mohanty and Dr. Ajay Parida have been lauded with the Samanta Chandra Sekhar Award and were presented a cash award of Rs one lakh along with medal and citation while Odisha Young Scientist Award have been conferred on Dr Swarup Kumar Parida, Dr. Milan Kumar Biswal, Dr. Biswaranjan Paital,  and  Dr. Sasmita Mohapatra. Each of them received a cash award of Rs 25,000.
