Bhubaneswar, Jun 1:

Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) authorities have decided to bar entry of tourists to the famous site on the outskirts of the Odisha capital for two days beginning tomorrow after Nor’wester induced rain accompanied with gusty wind caused extensive damage to the property.

As per a preliminary estimate, property worth over Rs 50 lakh has been damaged at NZP.

“Nandankanan Zoological Park will be closed for two days as several trees have been uprooted and electric supply has been disrupted following Nor’wester this afternoon,” NZP Deputy Director Jayant Kumar Das said.
