Bhubaneswar:28/5/17:Three eminent artists from Odisha, Odishi Guru Ratikant Mohapatra, theatre director Satyabrata Rout and Pala singer Laxmidhar Rout, have been nominated to receive the Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi award this year.

The veteran artists were selected for the prestigious award for their contributions in their respective fields.

They will be conferred the award by the President of India at a function in New Delhi.

The Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi, India’s first national academy for music, dance and drama, has been set up with an objective to coordinate and promote research in fields of Indian music, dance, drama, theatre and other traditional arts.
