Bhubaneswar:5/4/17: The Odisha government is mulling over waiving off farm loans just like Uttar Pradesh where crop loans of upto Rs 1 lakh have been waived off. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said the state government is considering the move.
On Wednesday, CM Patnaik met the panchayat members of Puri and Bargarh district and discussed what improvements are needed at the ground level in governance. “The performances will be reviewed after six months,” he said.
During the meeting, some panchayat members suggested the step to waive off farm loans like in Uttar Pradesh to which Patnaik has said the step will be thought about.
