Odisha : High School Certificate Examination:6,08,690 students appearing

Cuttack(ONT Bureau) 28/2/17:The high school certificate exams or Matric exams began today across the state with 6,08,690 students appearing for the exams at 2938 centres. Meanwhile, 12 students in Kalahandi missed out on sitting for the exams as they did not get their admit cards.
The first paper of the exams was First Language Odia which was conducted from 8.30 am to 11 am. Tight security arrangements were ensured by to avoid any malpractice and cheating. School and Mass education minister Debi Prasad Mishra visited Khannagar High School here and spent an hour at teh board office discussing the exam ararngements with District Education Officers (DEO).
The 12 Kalahandi students had paid their exam fee but their names were not uploaded online and hence they did not get their admit cards as their school did not give the proper receipt for exam fee, informed Chairman of Board of Secondary Education, Sushant Kumar Das.
