Justice MM Das Commission submitted its second interim report

Bhubaneswar:3/2/17: The of Inquiry, probing the multi-crore chit fund scam in Odisha, submitted its second interim report to the State government on Friday.

According to sources, secretary of the commission Debraj Rout submitted the second interim report to Home department Special Secretary Lalit Das at state secretariat here.

Officials said the probe panel has prepared the report on the basis of 61,212 of the more than eight lakh affidavits filed with it. While complaints have been filed by the investors against as many as 174 money collecting agencies, 110 firms have been sent notice by the Commission to file reply.It is learnt that the Economic Offences Wing of State Crime Branch has failed to provide information regarding 26 such companies which were active in Odisha a couple of years ago.Money of as many as 1,124 depositors have been refunded so far, the report said.
