NTPC, TSTPS Kaniha bagged prestigious ‘VAJRA’ Award

TALCHER/KANIHA: ONT Bureau:6/1/17:NTPC, TSTPS Kaniha was awarded “WINNER” of the Prestigious ‘VAJRA’ in the Category: ENERTIA – ‘PRAKASHmay’ Award for ‘Power Generation’ – Best Performing Thermal & Conventional Energy Project’ during “10th ENERTIA Awards 2016 – India & South Asia’s Awards for Excellence in Sustainable Energy & Power” held in New Delhi.The award was received by L D Sahoo, GM(O&M) on behalf of TSTPS Kaniha.
The award was given by “ENERTIA FOUNDATION” and its Official Publication “ENERTIA – Asia’s Premier Journal on Sustainable Energy, Renewable Power, Hydro Resources & Environment”;
The “10th ENERTIA Awards 2016” are Co-Chaired by Shri K. Ravikumar, Former CMD BHEL and Shri Yogendra Prasad, Former CMD NHPC .
The Eminent Jury Panel lauded the 3000 MW (500 MW x 6 Units) – Stage I & II – TALCHER KANIHA Super Thermal Power Station, location, Angul, Odisha for its excellent performance with PLF (Plant Load Factor) 90.95% during FY 2015-16 thereby making it best in class Thermal Power Station in India and Conventional Energy Project.
The Jury recognized that the States of Odisha, Bihar, Sikkim, Assam, Tripura & Damodar Valley Corporation, West Bengal, Jharkhand (are Stage I beneficiaries) while AP, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Pondichery (are Stage II beneficiaries), informed Deputy Manager(PR) Amit Kumar Behera.
